Game On: Playstation Classics that Could Get Remastered

amers rejoice! After the big success of the recently launched, remastered Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy, Sony and its publishers may be gearing up to release  a wave of remastered Playstation classics. What games will be included? Here are five of what’s likely to (and what we wish would) get remastered.

Originally released in 1999, Crash Team Racing is a kart racing video game featuring characters from the Crash Bandicoot universe. The video game is largely considered as the fourth installment of the Crash Bandicoot series, making it an obvious choice for the next remastered classic. Co-op has of course evolved over the years and if it is true that CTR is slated for a remaster, one would wonder just what new features and upgrades Sony and Naughty Dog would throw in to produce a better multiplayer experience.

From easter eggs of a demo version in the remastered Crash Bandicoot video game to a poster featuring an updated look of the purple dragon, gamers are hot on looking and pointing out hints that Spyro the Dragon would soon follow Crash Bandicoot. In the 1998 classic, you are in control of Spyro and guided by his dragonfly friend Sparx. Together, they travel across worlds on a mission to rescue other dragons, recover stolen treasure and fight the evil forces of Gnasty Gnorc.

Sony was unexpectedly quiet on their plans for remakes and remasters during their main spot in the E3 2017. But during a Youtube livestream during the conference, Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida had this to say about the matter, “We are listening to the fans to bring back whatever they tell us to consider.” And fans are doing just that for MediEvil! Online petitions have been started and have been accumulating signatures to get the PS4 development of the hack and slash game started. If it gets big enough, Sony might just notice and gamers might soon witness the return of Sir Daniel Fortesque!

Tenchu follows Rikimaru and Ayame, two ninjas from the Azuma ninja clan, sworn to root out corruption and gather intelligence in the service of Lord Gohda. Stealth is at the core of the game. Fans were quickly attached to the stories of the series, and to the deadly ninja moves that the pair of ninjas executed in the games. Now, fans are petitioning for a 4th instalment and a remastered version of the original 1998 action-adventure stealth game Tenchu: Stealth Assassins.

Cars, guns, explosions and twisted character back stories, Twisted Metal was definitely a game for the more mature ones. Violence aside, it was a game that intensified old school couch co-op.
