Don’t miss out on Philippine Independent Cinema’s best yet! Cinemalaya is back to inspire and bring joy to fans and practitioners of the local movie scene. What’s in-store this 2017? Here’s the complete lineup of the full-length category.
Seeing the Big Picture
The 13th run of the Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival makes it its mission to reintroduce the viewers to the true form and experience of cinema. During the opening ceremony held at Tanghalang Nicanor Abelardo (CCP main theater), festival director Chris Millado had a few words to say about what Cinemalaya’s theme of Seeing the Big Picture meant:
“To encourage the audience to see films on the big screen and not just on their smart phones; to experience film viewing by interacting with those who make them.”
Cinemalaya aims to expand independent cinema’s following by offering more to its fans and viewers. From an abundance of submissions, Cinemalaya has partnered with up-and-coming practitioners to tell unique stories that are guaranteed to appeal to different audiences.
