Ultimate Summer Movie Guide 2017

We’ve got a little something for everyone on this list. It’s the perfect time to sit back, relax, and have an #InspiringBondingMoment with the people you love

For the kids: Captain Underpants

Mention Captain Underpants and it will surely bring back memories of grade school and the annual Scholastic Book Fair. It’s been a long time coming for this bestselling series, with book adaptations popping left and right. This Dreamworks adaptation boasts a cast of A-listers starring Kevin Hart (The Secret Life of Pets, Ride Along) and Ed Helms (The Lorax, The Hangover) and judging from the trailer, it will remain faithful to the art style and story of the beloved worldwide phenomenon that will surely create a whole new generation of fans anywhere.

For the fanboys and girls: Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2

Would you expect anything less from Marvel? This is just the first that’s going to be released this 2017 following Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok. The memorable ensemble will have new members including Michael Rooker (The Walking Dead) as Yondu Udonta, Karen Gillan (Doctor Who) as Nebula, and Pom Klementieff (Hacker’s Game) as Mantis.  Vol.2 will be set two to three months after the first instalment. The group will continue their journey through the cosmos while also struggle to keep their new-found family together.

For the teens: Everything, Everything

Another novel adaptation here, no big deal. The book under the same name was published in 2015 by Nicola Yoon and the film will star Amandla Stenberg (The Hunger Games) and Nick Robinson (Jurassic World) It’s has tropes that we’ve seen endless times before the obvious one being the ill girl (um,  A Walk to Remember and The Fault in our Stars anyone?) but the exciting thing is, how is it going to be different from the rest? What will make it stand out? The only way to know is to watch it to feed your intrigue.

Lovers of Horror: The Bride

When people say marriage is scary, they don’t mean this. And a horror movie during the summer? Why not right? There’s not much information you can Google about this Russian film, but according to IMDb, it’s about a young girl’s horrifying journey in her soon-to-be husband’s family home where she starts to witness terrible visions as strange people prepare her for a mysterious Slavic wedding ceremony.
